Maison Baguès c. 1930

Antique Maison Baguès Iron and Cut Crystal Chandelier. Three feet tall by 27 inches wide.

Product Description

A most lovely, circa 1930’s, eight-light chandelier by Maison Baguès. The very large and beautiful drop-crystals and large cut-crystal flower-heads have become a signature of this esteemed company. Each bobeche supports a single amethyst drop-crystal, the other crystals are clear. A few of the upper tier crystals have small chips along their edges, this is only noticeable upon very close inspection. Overall condition is very good. Measuring approximately three feet in height and 27 inches in width.

Maison Baguès is world-renowned for its finest-quality glass and iron work. Their lighting has adorned some of the world’s finest hotels and palaces, including Versailles. Even today, they create using old-master techniques. These include hand-gilding and assembling the crystals by hand, as the company has done since it was founded in Auvergne around 1840.

We are also delighted to offer our clients contemporary lighting pieces made today by Baguès Paris. These are featured on our page titled Maison Baguès-The Collection, which can be found in our Furnishings category.
